Description

SALE Vintage hand-carved medieval dressed stature/figure made from one block of wood. It's large, 24.5 " tall, approximately 6" wide, 3.5" deep.The base is 5.5" wide, 3" deep. The statue holds a book/bible in one hand and a sword in the other. It is a rustic carving, not smooth or polished, in fact, you can see the knots in the wood in some places. It is a heavy piece. Please enlarge the photos to see the details. The figure's costume shows a large round collar, full length robe and an apron at the middle. This item was purchased about 50 years ago at an art auction, but I do not know the origin and I see no signature.
