Italian made oxolite sculpture on black marble base of the Roman Emperor Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus, also known as Octavian. It is a modern reproduction by Italian sculptor A. Santini of the Augustus of Prima Porta, a full-length portrait statue of Augustus Caesar, the first emperor of the Roman Empire. Oxolite is a compound used in Tuscany by A. Santini to reproduce original Carrara marble statues. Made of lime stone and marble dust and mixed with resin, it creates a very realistic Carrara marble. 8.5ʺW × 5ʺD × 11ʺH and in like new condition.
